In 1984, the NBA banned Jordans shoes because they did not meet “uniform standards” and match his teammates. Jordan incurred a $5000 fine per game that he wore his black/red shoes. Nike decided this was a great marketing strategy to build their brand awareness, so they decided to pay the fines! Nike rereleased the Banned 1 Jordan shoes in 2011 & 2016. The 2016 version did not have the Banned logo. This pair is pictured above and we customized the “X” logo.
